On March 9, 70-plus people from the Diocese of St. Cloud joined others from throughout Minnesota for the first Catholics at the Capitol event. This well-organized gathering included addresses from each of the bishops of Minnesota, outlining the three key issues we were to focus on in our legislative meetings later in the day.
More than 1,000 Minnesota Catholics — including 73 from the Diocese of St. Cloud — came to St. Paul March 9 to deliver a heartfelt message to their elected representatives: “Catholic voices count!”
Catholics at the Capitol is a daylong event is an effort of Minnesota’s bishops, who are calling for Catholics from across the state to participate in a day of advocacy to promote life and human dignity.
Bishop Kettler asked members of the council to consider representing the Diocese of St. Cloud as leaders from their legislative districts at the event and to encourage others from their areas to attend.
